ARCoR, in partnership with YPO, organized a special seminar on self-development and values, called LIFE IN FOCUS

On the 5th of June 2014 ARCoR members, YPO Romania Chapter members (Young Presidents’ Organization) and special guests attended a one of a kind international event, called LIFE IN FOCUS.

The Club of Rome plans to encourage a normative discourse on values, by hosting meetings with thought-leaders and CoR members, in order to identify what are the values that could help drive towards sustainability, values that could protect and preserve our planet.

As such, ARCoR organized LIFE IN FOCUS in Bucharest, with renowned philosopher and world thinker Swami Parthasarathy – the founder of Vedanta Academy, adviser for an impressive selection of personalities and world leaders.

Swami A. Parthasaraty has been teaching people about self-management versus external management. He has multiple degrees in literature, science and law, and completed a post-graduation in international law from London University. He has spoken to the Festival of Thinkers as a keynote speaker alongside sixteen Nobel Laureates. Swami A. Parthasaraty was also invited to speak to and advise people from NASA, the World Economic Forum, the European Business Council, to world leaders in banking, as well as enthusiastic audiences at Harvard University, Oxford, Stanford, Microsoft, Merrill Lynch or Ford.

Translating subtle philosophical themes into practical techniques of living is an exercise that has reduced stress and increased productivity among human beings. Such was LIFE IN FOCUS: an opportunity to learn, exchange ideas and a source of „food for thought”. The speaker was introduced by Liviu Tudor, General Secretary of ARCoR, who spoke about the way our values become our nature and how they influence our behavior, our actions and the life of others.

The lecture was followed by an interactive questions & answers session, animated by the interest of the participants and the answers of the speaker.
